Abigail Johnson is Chief Operating Officer and Partner at Sapphire Ventures (sapphireventures.com), where she oversees the firm’s operations spanning legal, finance, compliance, HR, marketing, IT, and facilities, and leads ESG and corporate giving initiatives. Since joining Sapphire in 2015 as General Counsel and VP of Operations, she has helped scale the platform, drawing on prior experience as a Jones Day associate focused on venture capital, M&A, fund formation, and corporate law. Abigail began her career in management consulting at Charles River Associates and also worked in-house at an early-stage fintech company; she holds a JD from the University of Chicago Law School and an engineering degree from Rice University.
