As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Collins Aerospace, Mona Bates utilizes her expertise in digital technology to help optimize processes for business, advance success for customers and amplify digital experiences for all staff members. Her duties involve strategic planning as well as administering all aspects of information technology & cybersecurity. Additionally, she spearheads the transformation throughout Collins's diverse functional support organizations and strategic business units with aplomb.
For over two decades, Mona has been an IT & leadership expert in the aerospace, defense, and commercial arenas. Recently she held a Vice President role at Raytheon Missiles & Defense as well as served as CIO for their Integrated Defense Systems just before their 2020 merger with United Technologies Corporation.
Mona is an ardent believer in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as well as STEM activities at Raytheon Technologies. Outstanding for her contributions in the field, she won the esteemed Boston CIO of the Year ORBIE award 2020 and serves on InspireCIO's advisory committee. Fluent in Arabic and she also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Technology Management focus from University of Colorado-Colorado Springs along with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Networking from Regis University.
